1. Download the Chikka Messenger application and install it on your PC.

   Chikka Messenger requires Windows 98/2000/XP. If you're using Mac, Linux, or some other operating system, click here to launch the web-based Chikka Javalite.

2. Sign-up for a Chikka ID. You'll need one to use the Chikka Messenger. Just follow the easy steps on the web site.

3. Run Chikka Messenger and log-in with your Chikka ID and password. You're ready to start texting.

To add Chikka buddies, click on the Send Message button on the upper left hand corner of the Chikka Messenger, and enter your friend's Chikka ID (ex. 01123456) or complete mobile number (ex. 919827029013).

Type in a message and hit ENTER to send it. Your buddy will automatically be added to your list.

To add Google Talk buddies, click on the Send Message button and enter your buddy's Gmail address. He will be added to your list pending his approval.

To send a message, double-click your buddy’s name on the buddy list. A chat window with your selected buddy will open. Type your message on the lower box and press ENTER.

Your buddy receives the message on his PC if he's logged in Chikka, or on his phone if he's mobile.

You can also choose where he receives the message by clicking on the Destination dropdown list on the chat window.

Add emoticons to your messages by clicking the smiley icon.

When a buddy sends you a message, an alert sound will play and his name will flash in your buddy list. Double click on his name to read the message.

Once you leave your PC, you can still receive messages and chat with your buddies. If your Chikka ID is your mobile phone number, your messages are forwarded to your mobile when you're offline or away from Chikka.

You can change how you receive messages by changing your settings. Just click the Options menu and then click Preferences to access them.
